Hinoki es más que un simple ciprés. Ocupa un espacio único en la tradición japonesa. Su aroma tiene un efecto central y se dice que desencadena ondas cerebrales alfa calmantes: un toque de limón, cedro y maderas aireadas. Estas varitas de incienso, su soporte y su quemador provienen del valle del río Shimanto, cerca de Kochi, Japón.
